Taking Erotic Photographs

It is tempting to think that it would be impossible to take a bad photograph of your wife as she stands naked in front of the camera with her clothes on the floor beside her.

But you would be wrong. It is not a matter of the camera either. A compact camera used in the right way will yeild just as good a photograph as an expensive 35mm camera used in the wrong way. It is really just a case of getting the mood and lighting right.

Do NOT take a picture with film in the camera until your wife or husband is "warmed up". By this I mean, click away as if you are taking a picture but don't put the film in yet. This will let you both get into the mood for the event. (A bottle of wine might also help!)

I mentioned lighting. By all means use the flash. But don't rely on it for the main light. It will light only from the front and wash out every single hint of depth in the picture. Remember, the light in the room you are using is not as bright to the camera as it is to your eyes. (Unless you have a function for altering the cameras' shutter speed or aperture) So leave the main ceiling light on. Every body has a desk lamp or an anglepoise lamp. Use it. If you have a couple of lamps, all the better. Unless you've got a lot of experience and an accurate way of guaging the level, use more light in the room than you think you'll need. Place the lamps out of the frame you're shooting and definetely not pointing directly at the lens- you will get flare. Hide them behind something like a book and point them only at your other half. Say for example you've asked her to lie on the bed. Stand a reasonable distance away and frame her in the viewfinder. Have one light on the bedside table, out of view but lighting her from behind. Light the background aswell. Nothing amazing just a spotlight from below. You'll probably be thinking, pah! what a load of fuss. Believe me, it makes a hell of a difference.

Posture. Or posing her. If you are thinking, or hoping to be taking a couple of her completely naked, try to get her to go without a bra or tight panties for a couple of hours before hand. The elastic leaves marks on the skin and we don't want that. Don't leaf through your copies of penthouse for ideas on posing her either. The posing they use is done by professional models who spend ages getting just the right position and expression. And we are meant to be having fun!

Think a little. Remember something like, the last time she was weeding the garden. The way her bum stuck in the air while she was kneeling down. Those glorious breasts as they swung beneath her. What about that time she was washing the dishes with the radio on and you caught her dancing away to herself. Arms in the air and eyes shut, away in a world of her own. The fact that you remeber any scene like these tells you that there is an aspect of your wifes/husbands body that gets you going. Get it onto film!

Don't go too close up if you're using a compact camera. It will only come out blurred. If you want to accentuate something, say her large breasts, use another way of showing how big they are. It is a bit of a cliche but what about asking her to rest them on the backrest of a dining room chair and letting them hang over. Or wearing a top that is maybe just a little bit too tight. There are ways and means. If she has a beautifully shaved peach of a pussy, ask her to put some baby lotion over it to make it shine and stand out.

Making it look as though you've caught her offguard is difficult to pull off but worth it if you can get it right. She will have to be doing something though. And I don't mean sitting deep in thought with nothing else going on. Use a prop. A book might be useful. If it is an "adult publication" she may be looking as though she is enjoying it. ie.masturbating. She might be getting ready from the shower, towelling her hair. Have a think.

Above all, tell her that you know she is gorgeous. You are simply helping her to express it.
